Yup, we’ve
moved. To our new blog more aptly named for the area where we live. The old
blog was named after my impatience of having our home built. It started in 2011
with our purchase and has followed us all the way to 2014 where we hope to be
in our new home by April. Of this year.
So as we get
closer, and in celebration of Ground Hog Day and Super Bowl Sunday (as a good a
reasons as any), I’ve moved everything over to Ocean State Home. I hope you
continue to read my blog and comment freely. And I’ll keep you updated as
things progress.
In the meantime, here
are some pics of where we’ve been.
Enjoy your
week.

Winter 2014
It's looking great! I just went back and read some of the first posts….wow….what you have been through! 10 years ago we knocked down our old (tiny) kitchen and "tack" room on our 1830's cape. We planned to replace the same size structure with a large kitchen/living space. Not so easy. Originally we had gotten a 100,000 quote from Cottrell Brothers in Tiverton to do this and an attached garage. We thought this was too high. Stupid us. We probably sunk 150,000 into it. Not by choice. The guy that took down the original wide boards never pd us as he was going to…the builder milked us and then my husband sent him packing and he and our awesome neighbor finished it. Of course at this point, we were sad and broke. If only we could go back and start again.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't sound like fun. More like a project from hell. I guess that's why we always seem to learn from our experiences. It's the amnesia part that's the problem...
DeleteIt's nice to get these "long shots" that give perspective on how it fits on the lot and into the neighborhood. Everything is looking good.
ReplyDeleteApril is right around the corner!
Ya, it was interesting going back and looking at the progress. You need these when you feel like you're in a slump.
